Little Note About The Writers
Elaine Ang-Giraud | Founder and chief editor of Extraordinary Weddings. She started her love with weddings in 2003 and had not looked back since. Looking at beautiful images of couples in love and writing about all things wedding is all part of the day for her. She is inspired by all things beautiful and intrigue. Till today, she tears at every solemnization ceremony, at the 1st march in or when she sees the bride all dolled up on the wedding day. ExtraOrdinary Weddings is an expression of her drive to encourage and help couples prepare for their wedding day with love and confidence.

Allison Lim | Co-founder and director of CardBlanche Exquisite Stationery, Allison loves paper, parties, and all things pretty. She also loves mini things, which explains her fascination with wedding favours. With a firm desire to create weddings of fairytale proportions, she and Cardblanche have endeavoured to design beautiful stationery, and in the last 6 years branched into favours, as well as party invitations and baby announcement cards.

Bernard Teo | Managing Photographer for Avenue 8. Capturing precious moments at weddings is what Bernard is best known for… Photography has always been his middle name. Since primary school, Bernard never fails to have a camera by his side. Shooting for his school’s newsletter throughout his secondary and tertiary life, and covering major events during his national service. In June 1999 he started shooting weddings. In 2003 when he made photography his career, it came as no surprise.
In November 2007, he was put in charge of managing AVENUE 8 and since he has won international awards of excellence from Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI). Now besides shooting weddings he also invests his time in nurturing potential photographers to become professional wedding photographers.

A meticulous perfectionist, she handles almost every part of pre-wedding or event preparations personally – from designing the setting and stationery to hand-picking fresh flowers and decorative props from suppliers to floral arrangements on the actual day. Through fostering friendly relationships with her clients, she customizes weddings and events that are hardly short of pizzazz, panache and of course, personal touch. She hopes to apply her linguistics, branding and communications, and culinary academic backgrounds to more creative expressions in weddings and events.

Hannah Chong | Director and Executive Wedding Specialist of Heaven’s Gift. Hannah calls herself a passionate dreamer and a romancer – the establishment of Heaven’s Gift is the perfect illustration of where her dreams have led her. To Hannah, what excites her most in her role as a special events planner and a wedding planner is the intimate connection that she forms with her clients and her couples. One can witness her creations and works through the way she understands her clients and how she designs and personalises each event to make it her clients’ very own. Hannah is a certified wedding specialist by Weddings Beautiful Worldwide, a gobal organization that provides professional education and certification for wedding planners across the world. She is also a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants in the United States, the world’s largest and most highly regarding bridal association in the wedding industry. Today, Hannah and team have since served clients in Singapore, Bali, Tokyo and Seychelles, and will also be creating more special events in Asia.
Janice Poh | A woman . A wife . A mother. Project Manager of Let There Be Light. In love with weddings since she was a flower girl, and working in the wedding industry since 2000. Her conviction for her work came from chatting with a 90year old lady, who once showed her a precious image of her wedding in the early 1900s. That was when she knew – photographs are precious souvenirs. They are passed down for generations, and make up a part of history.

Melissa Wang | Founder & Event Stylist of Wonderland For Detailed Planners. With an established background in journalism and fashion business management, Melissa Wang has spent the last decade developing an acute taste for aesthetics, and visual presentation. Having been responsible for setting up and managing brands such as Jo Malone, Juicy Couture, and Club Monaco for Southeast Asia, her expectations and vision to support event planners to create amazing aesthetics has led her to create her own wonderland for weddings in Singapore.

Michelle Wong | Born on a blessed Christmas Day, Michelle was raised and born outside of Singapore. She has resided in Singapore for the past 13 years and is married to a local. Her passion for writing kicked-off when she picked up a wedding magazine from the news-stand. The rest is history as her interest picked up further after she got hitched. Attention to fine detail and meticulous planning mattered the most to her during the preps stage of her opulent ‘Tiffanny & Co’ themed wedding. Now a contributing blogger cum writer, Michelle is on track with EOW.

Sarah Lim | Founder and Creative Director of PoPPY Flora Studio and Dessert and Palettes. A dedicated homebody and lover of all things ornamental. Her love affair with “all things pretty and beautiful” dated back from year 2000. Sarah does some of the most beautiful flower bouquets and dessert and venue set ups you will ever see. After looking through her creations, you will realize that her works are truly a labour of love.
